Top 10 Tips and Tricks in Battle Bay! | Win more games!
Watch for 10 Battle Bay tips and tricks that will help you improve your game and climb to a higher rank!
As of June 1, 2017, the team with more players alive when the clock runs out will be the winner so tip 2 no longer applies.
Check out my in-depth video on how to aim:
I really hope you all like these tips and tricks. While some of them are very situational, many of them can be implemented in every game you play.
Here are some notes that didn’t quite make it into the final video that you may still find useful:
Hitting your explosive weapons against a wall is a trick I like to use all the time. Depending on how far from the blast your opponent is, the damage will be reduced but the damage reduction is better than doing no damage at all. The crew members Mortimer and Sinklair both have talents that increases area damage. This will allow the blast from your explosive weapons to increase. Although it isn’t very clear if the talent applies to all explosive weapons, it seems that it does.
Many players follow a pretty simple pattern of switching to the weapon you will shoot and then quickly firing. If you have a nitro or tesla shield, you can activate it right when you see someone switch them weapon to avoid taking damage.
Playing for a draw can be difficult, especially if you have a slower ship. If you succeed to create a tie, everyone will either gain or lose about 1 or 2 infamy which is much better than how much you normally lose.
When you are looking to hit an enemy slightly beyond the range indicator, you need to be looking at the color of the target circle. When the circle turns green, it means your weapon will still hit the target even if they are out of range. I’m not entirely sure what causes this discrepancy but I think it has to do with the extra range you can reach when you are shooting from a higher part of a wave.
Again, I hope these tips and tricks were useful. Practice them and you will see improvement in your games. Good luck in the bay!

10 Tips to Reach Nightmare League | Battle Bay
Watch for 10 Battle Bay tips and tricks that will help you reach nightmare league!
Check out my other Battle Bay tips and tricks guide:
I hope you’ve found these tips and tricks useful in your journey to reaching nightmare league in Battle Bay. I’ve decided to create this video after recently accomplishing my own personal goal which was to reach nightmare league with a MK5 Enforcer. It was certainly a challenge to pass 4,000 infamy, especially with all the nerfs to just about every single item in my loadout, but the feeling of accomplishment is absolutely worth it.
Here are some other Battle Bay tips and tricks that didn’t quite make it into my top 10 list:
-If you aren’t sure about what items you want to use in the long-run, spend your gold and sugar to level up items that are strong on just about every boat and loadout. Good examples of ‘always good’ items include the turbo, shields, and of course overboost if you play a ship that can equip yellow items.
-Although I suggest not changing out your items too often, don’t be afraid to mix things up if you aren’t completely happy with your current setup. If you were to compare the build I used many months ago to what I’ve recently used to reach nightmare league, you would notice that there are very few differences. However, I have made slight changes along the way such as replacing my standard cannon with a swift torpedo once I got Sinklair leveled up to a higher level.
-Most players are better off if they don’t fleet with a friend. While fleeting with a buddy can be one of the most fun aspects of Battle Bay, it isn’t necessarily the best if you want to climb in infamy. The reason for this is that unless your friend is way below the infamy they should be at, it will be difficult for you to always have to carry the weight of another play that is at already at their appropriate level. To add to this, fleeting always brings up the lower infamy player’s infamy to the higher infamy player’s infamy for matchmaking purposes. This means you will always be at a matchmaking disadvantage unless you and your fleeted friend are the exact same infamy. With all of this said, I do believe that a good Fixer that you work well with can still be beneficial to fleet with, simply to guarantee having a Fixer on your team.
-Move unpredictably. Most players at higher infamy ranges have learned to lead their shots to some extent. For this reason, simply moving at a constant speed in a straight line will not be an effective method of dodging enemy fire. Try to move unpredictably through random stops and turns. Although some ships are better at sudden changes in movement than others, there is still no excuse for not doing whatever you can do dodge every shot on you.
-Kite backwards or push forward. If your loadout consists primarily of long-range weapons, it is a great strategy to always be moving backwards just out of range of your opponents. I believe many players tend to forget about moving backwards as even being an option because they are focused on forward movements or moving from side to side. If your target is primarily a close range fighter such as most Defenders or Speeders, don’t let them get close enough to deal damage to you by always moving away from them just enough so that they can’t reach you but you can reach them. On the flipside, if you have primarily short range weapons, do whatever you can to get up in the face of opponents so that you can smash them with your high damage weapons.
Again, I hope these tips and tricks will help you reach nightmare league. As mentioned in the video, at the end of the day, what’s important is that you are having a good time playing and not stressing out over your infamy.

What is the Best Ship in Battle Bay?
So you want to know what is the best ship in Battle Bay? Today we'll take a look at some of the strengths of each ship and when they become most powerful.
There are currently 5 playable ships in Battle Bay which are the Shooter, Speeder, Enforcer, Defender and Fixer. All of them fulfil a unique niche that make them important to a team in their own way.
The Shooter is the heavy hitter of the team, being able to hold more weapons than any other ship. The Shooter can hold enough weapons to handle a variety of situations such as having cannons, mortars, torpedoes and mines all in one setup. The Shooter also has a decent amount of health so it can take a few hits just fine. The Shooter’s drawback is that it can’t hold any yellow items such as speed boosts, shields, stun and slows.
The Speeder is the fastest of all ships and is extremely agile. Although the Speeder can’t take that many hits, its superior speed can help you dodge many poorly aimed shots. Play the Speeder if you enjoy zooming around the map and being the first to scout out the enemy!
The Enforcer is a very well-rounded ship that specializes in having a nice mix of red and yellow items. The ship has decent damage, health and agility. However, there isn’t an area that the Enforcer is dominant at. Its damage is weaker than the Shooter, its agility is below that of the Speeder, and its defense is less than the Defender. Nonetheless, the Enforcer is a very powerful ship as it doesn’t suffer from any giant weaknesses.
The Defender is the hardest ship to sink in the shipyard. With its high base health and defense and an abundance of blue item slots, the Defender can soak up more damage than any other ship! You also won’t be sacrificing any damage as the Defender maxes out with 3 weapon slots. Play the Defender if you enjoy taking the lead and laughing as you shrug off your enemy’s damage.
Lastly, the Fixer is the healer of the team. The Fixer is an incredibly crucial ship to have on your team as it can keep your team alive and dishing damage for much longer. Many ships don’t use an item that can heal themselves so they need to rely on the Fixer to provide the healing support. Although the Fixer is the weakest in terms of damage, it is more than made up for by incredible healing done.
Although I ranked the best Battle Bay ships in this video based on how well I believe they perform, it is far more important to play the ship that you enjoy the most. There are no bad ships in the game and having a variety of ships on a team can really strengthen the overall power of your team composition.
If you have any further questions, please let me know and I will try my best to answer them! Also, let me know what your favorite ship is and why you enjoy it.

Beginners Guide to Battle Bay
Learn how to navigate the game. We cover the basics of ships, items, crew, the shop, quests, guilds, and seasons.
When you first start playing Battle Bay, the layout can be a bit confusing. Hopefully this video clears things up for any first timers out there.
Some topics covered in this video are:
-Gold, sugar, stars, and pearls
When you first start playing, your focus should be on getting used to controlling your ship and the weapons you use. The canon is definitely the most straightforward weapon and I have found the sniper to also be very beginner friendly. Mortars and torpedoes can be tricky as they don't automatically aim at your target in the same way that the standard guns do. For mortars and torpedoes, be sure to aim your weapon in front of your target so that the impact is right on your enemy.
I mention in the video that all ships have their strengths and weaknesses which is absolutely true. As a beginner, I believe the Shooter is the best starting ship with the Defender being the best starting ship once it is available to unlock. The additional health that the Defender provides can really help you overwhelm other newbies. When you start to get better at the game, you may find that you value the strength and agility of other ships more than the additional health of the Defender.
Leave a comment if you have any specific areas of the game that you would like me to make a video on. I'm planning on going over items in my next video followed by some tips and strategies I've learned in battles.
Note: As the game is constantly evolving, know that some features and layouts may change over time.

Enforcer Guide | Playstyle & Items - Battle Bay
Learn the Enforcer’s playstyle and item loadouts! Win more games with the right mindset and weapons.
Do you like the play the Enforcer? It’s my personal favorite ship. The tips in this video are tailored towards Enforcer players from MK1 to MK4 so keep in mind that some of the advice given doesn’t always carry over to top level play.
I know I mention it often, but I truly do believe that the cannon and sniper are the best weapons in Battle Bay for beginners. They are very straightforward and are 2 of the easiest weapons in the game to land on your target.
I wouldn’t personally recommend using mortars on the Enforcer because you don’t have enough red item slots to spare. Although mortars are very powerful, they are more situational than cannons and torpedoes. Mortars are better on the ships that have extra weapon slots to spare such as the Shooter.
As I mentioned in my tips and tricks video, always stay on the move with the Enforcer. You are still very mobile so constantly moving will help you avoid a lot of damage.
Here is the tips and tricks video if you want to check it out:
If you are using weapons such as the cannon and sniper, you really want to keep your distance from your opponent’s so you can out range them. On the other hand, if you switch to short-ranged weapons like the flare gun and carronade, you will need to find a way to get up close to deal a lot of damage. Match your play style to your weapons for maximum success!
While I do like torpedoes on the Enforcer, I might advise against using them unless you know you can land it most of the time. It really hurts to miss a torpedo because you are stuck with only one other weapon until you reach MK5 where you unlock a third red item slot.
Let me know if you have any questions about anything I talked about in the video or related to Battle Bay and I will try my best to answer.

HOW TO WIN BATTLES: BATTLE BAY TIPS: FOR BEGINNERS
Hey guys thought i make a video to cover some importants tips on winning battles and pushing infamy. As you can tell i suck at making videos but hope you enjoy it lol. Happy new year in advance. Peace.
BATTLE BAY | SPEEDER TOP PLAYER GAMEPLAY
Aiming Tutorial - Improve Your Accuracy in Battle Bay!
Stop missing all your shots! In this video, we’ll go over how to aim and how to lead your target so that you can hit fast moving enemies from a distance.
Aiming in Battle Bay can be very tough when you first start playing, especially considering how little advice the game gives you! Hopefully this video will clear things up and help improve your accuracy. Being more accurate is one of the greatest things you can do to improve your game play.
The major topic covered in this video is leading your target which is to shoot ahead of where your enemy is moving so that your projectile lands right on top of them. Finally, you can start hitting those pesky speeders that think they can just boost right through your entire team. I would recommend practicing with a cannon as I believe it is just slow enough to give you a good feel for aiming ahead of your enemy.
I apologize for the lack of mortar game play in this video. I still need more practice on it because I don’t use it when I’m trying to increase my infamy. If you do use mortar, try to get a feel for where there are obstacles on the map that will block the mortar in the air. For any weapon, you can see if the projectile has a clear path to its destination by holding down the aiming button.
As far as torpedoes go, I believe they become way too easy to dodge for experienced players if you fire them from a distance so try to save them for when you are closer to your enemy.
As always, continue to practice and you will get better and better!
Best (and Worst) Ways to Spend Pearls | Battle Bay
Learn to spend pearls efficiently! Don't fall for these common traps that waste your pearls.
We’ve all asked this question at some point in our Battle Bay lives; “What’s the best way to spend my pearls?”
With so many options it can be difficult to know for sure and certain things in the shop just aren’t worth it. I think the biggest mistake with pearls you can make is to buy an epic item directly from the shop unless you are a heavy spender that knows exactly which item to go for. As touched upon in the video, the reason this purchase isn’t a good choice is that it costs an incredible 3,000 pearls and you can’t buy a duplicate of the item later on. This means you end up stuck with a tier 1 epic until you are lucky enough to get a duplicate. I’ve been playing since beta and there are still some items that I’ve just never been able to get and that’s just how the game can be sometimes. A tier 1 epic may seem good when you first start, but it quickly becomes inferior to tier 2 and tier 3 rare items which are much easier to get and level up.
Although the epic container is a great deal, I personally wouldn’t wait to get it if I had no intention of buying pearls. The reason for this is that you will likely be using rare items for a long time and the extra legendary pieces in the epic container will take ages to become an actual legendary item. With that said, don’t be discouraged by how difficult it is to get great items. Rare items can take you all the way to nightmare league with enough skill and epic items will come over time. High level epics are considered the best for many players anyways because they are so much easier to level up when compared to legendaries which require a heavy investment to find duplicates.
I hope this guide has helped you figure out how to spend your pearls, but if you have any further questions, leave a comment below and I will try my best to answer.

Items in Battle Bay Explained!
Let's go over how items work in Battle Bay!
There's a lot going on when it comes to items and nothing is really explained within the game so I hope this video clears things up. The topics I cover are pretty general and suitable for beginners trying to understand items, item pieces, parts, item cells, evolving, combining and more.
Here are a few item questions I've been asked that have not made it into the video:
1. What is the best weapon?
While all weapons have their strengths and place in the game, certain weapons are much more suitable for beginners. The cannon and the sniper are the best mix of damage and ease of use. They also remain strong as you move up the ranks. In general, cannons of all types (blast, explosive, etc) are the most straightforward and are very powerful for beginners.
2. What should I spend my excess gold on early on?
When you first start playing, it's easy to hit the gold cap and not be sure what to spend it on. I personally recommend buying materials from the shop in the order of item pieces followed by rare parts, epic parts, uncommon parts, perks and lastly common parts. Spending gold to buy an item directly is fine if you are certain that you will stick with the item. Otherwise, it is not a good deal.
Please feel free to leave me any questions you have and I will try my best to answer them!

Item Rarities | What to Upgrade First? - Battle Bay
How do you know which item rarity is worth upgrading? Let’s find out!
Link to Reddit post:
It’s really tough to know if you should spend the sugar and gold to upgrade your new item when you can’t see its stats at every level. You may also be uncertain if you should be sticking with your high level uncommon items or use your low level epics items.
Although higher rarity items are always better in the long term, you may be missing out on a lot of rewards by being weaker in the short term. Most players will likely spend most of their time playing Battle Bay with items between uncommon and epic rarity.
Uncommon items are easy to get and good for newer players but you end up hitting the level limit for items quickly on uncommon items because you don’t have the talents to evolve them yet.
Rare items are an excellent middle ground. They are not too difficult to get as long as you keep playing, and they are still powerful enough to climb up the leaderboard. The approach I recommend players take is to focus on getting a full set of rare items leveled up to your limit. As you play, hold on to any epics that you think you might use down the road. Once you get a duplicate of an epic item that you like, you can make the switch to that epic item.
If you do like to spend money on Battle Bay (Which if you do, thank you for supporting the game), you might be better off skipping straight ahead to epic items. Epic items are used all the way up to the top league so you will definitely be using them in the long run.
At the end of the day, choosing which item to use will be up to you as there will always be a benefit and a drawback to whichever decision you make. Let me know if you have any further questions in the comments below!

Mine Guide | Overview & Tips - Battle Bay
Learn to use the mine and some cool new tips and tricks!
In today’s video, we go over everything a beginner needs to know to use the mine. The mine is one of the most unique weapons in Battle Bay because it isn’t a direct damage dealing weapon. Instead, your opponents need to make the move to go over the mine and take damage.
While the usefulness of your mine is may vary from game to game, one thing is for sure. Mines are always fun! If you do plan to use the mine, do everything you can to increase its damage including leveling it up, getting the right perks, and upgrading Blastian to get all the mine talents. Then you’ll have incredibly powerful mines that absolutely destroy your enemies.
One quick thing I hadn’t mentioned in the video, it takes a few seconds after your throw your mine for it to be armed. This is why you can’t just throw the mine directly on top of your opponent.
Remember that your mine placement doesn’t necessarily need to hit your opponents to be good. If it controls an area so that your opponents can’t move where they want to go, you’ve already succeeded. Think about the overall strategy of where your team is moving and where your opponents might come from. Sometimes it is best to place the mines behind you to protect your team from a flank.
When putting together a good mine build, make sure your non-mine items are very versatile because the mine will not help you much in a battle. This means that you shouldn’t go running around with only long cooldown items together with a mine.
Are there any other mine tips and tricks that I haven’t mentioned? Let me know it the comments below!

What Perks to Use? | Battle Bay Perks Guide
This video help you decide if a perk is worth buying or if you might be better off saving your gold for a better perk later.
Link to Perk List:
1:04 Red Items
2:28 Blue Items
2:59 Yellow Items
3:26 Green Items
Perks in Battle Bay are pretty expensive. An uncommon perk typically costs around 50,000 to 60,000 gold, a rare perk costs around 500,000 to 600,000 gold, and an epic perk costs around 1 to 1.5 million gold. Talk about pricey. The good thing about them is that if you buy the right perk, they will last you a lifetime. You can salvage perks for a small price to take them off your item and bring them back into your inventory. An uncommon perk costs 500 gold to salvage. A rare perk costs 10 pearls to salvage. Lastly, an epic perk costs 25 pearls to salvage.
The perks I listed in this video are based on which perks I believe will have the best value in the long run. This means that they may not be the best possible perk if you are still relatively new to the game. For example, the sniper’s critical hit chance perk is the best, but it is a little weaker than the regular damage perk when you don’t have any of the critical hit bonuses from the crew member Bhurt. I would still buy the critical chance perk in this situation because it is a better long term investment.
If you have any questions about perks, feel free to ask in the comments below and I will try my best to answer.

Tips & Tricks for Yellow Items - Battle Bay
In-depth guide covering yellow items for Speeders, Enforcers and Fixers!
To clarify my note about Tesla Shield and Tesla Bolt, sometimes it makes sense to use your Tesla Bolt to get rid of an opponent’s Tesla Shield, especially when your teammates are ready to hit them with a bunch of damage. However, sometimes you may be the one with the Tesla Shield available and want to block a Tesla Bolt to avoid the stun. It really depends on your items and the situation you are in.
As of the making of this video, Tesla Bolt and Tesla Shield remain very popular as yellow items because of their strengths in 1 on 1 fights and small skirmishes. However, we may one day see a rise in popularity of the freezing items if more player’s use damage to frozen targets perks.
When choosing between the Frost Blaster and Frost Launcher, consider your build and your playstyle. The Frost Blaster is great for 1 on 1 fights and players with heavy hitting weapons that are tough to hit such as the Big Torpedo. It can also be used to slow down those pesky Speeders that think they can just charge right through your team with their speed. On the other hand, the Frost Launcher can bring a lot of value to your team by slowing multiple enemies consistently. Although your damage may be lower, this item could potentially be worth much more to your team and help your teammates dish out a lot more damage.
Nitro and Overboost and both very good mobility items. However, it’s hard for me to think of a situation where I would choose Nitro instead of Overboost. Ideally, you would use both of these together for maximum mobility.
I hope this guide has helped you understand the yellow items in Battle Bay a bit better. Feel free to ask questions in the comments below!
