This is the Game Mighty No. 9 Should Have Been | Mighty Gunvolt Burst on Nintendo Switch

Mighty No. 9 was a disaster. It wasn't the Mega Man successor the developers promised, and the millions of dollars people gave were frittered away somehow. Then, Inti Creates comes along and makes a much better job at a fraction of the cost. This is how it should have been done.

MIGHTY GUNVOLT BURST - REVIEW

Hey everyone for this review I take on Mighty Gunvolt Burst for the Nintendo Switch its also out on 3DS. This is a follow up to Mighty Gunvolt which features two playable characters in Gunvolt from Azure Striker Gunvolt and Beck from Mighty No 9. The game is a solid 2 d action title that provides tighty controls and a nice challenge.

This game was provided by the publisher for the purpose of this review.

My reviews are 100% unbiased and I will never do one unless I am confident enough to do so. I use a scale of 1 - 10 with 5 being a average game. Many professional reviewers use 7 as a average game which I find is more of a trick to convince you the consumer that a game is better then it really is.

Mighty No. 9: The Full Development Story | The Art of Failure

Mighty No. 9 is a video game that was crowdfunded via Kickstarter in 2013 and was released in 2016, and is considered one of the biggest disappointments in gaming from the past decade. However, Mighty No. 9's flaws came during development, and so today, instead of bashing Kickstarter, Mighty No. 9 itself, or its mastermind Keiji Inafune, we're going to use research, analysis, and interviews with some of those involved to get the full development story of Mighty No. 9. This is The Art of Failure.

Skip the opening monologue: 1:30

Special thanks for Ben Judd for appearing in this video himself. He currently works at gaming agency DDM, along with Dangen Entertainment, a publisher focused on working with Japanese indie game developers:

All the Mighty Numbers are beaten so it’s time for us to venture into the Gateway. This is the level where if you take a different path, you won’t get the S rank. That happened to me and I was shocked. Thankfully I was able to get it but yeah, should have done it since the start.

In the end, you take on Gunvolt who Beck feels is the one who brought him here. The fight isn’t hard if you are now real strong but he can beat you down if you aren’t careful. Afterwards we learn of the true menace responsible, Taseo from Gunvolt 2. Why? I have no idea.

We’ll have to figure things out in Part 11. Besides we have our work cut out for us.

Now we’re going straight on full speed. Next stop is the Mine and compared to Beck’s run, we at least do a better job. Of course Seismic is determined to make sure that we fall. Well guess what… it’s time we get it done and take him down.

We head for the Highway in Part 19.

All that remains now is the Radio Tower and the only Mighty Number left, Aviator aka No. 6.

To be fair, it was actually pretty easy and I enjoyed it big time. Plus taking down Aviator was rather easy since he reminded me of Storm Eagle in terms of some of his attacks. Thankfully with all the Mighty Numbers beaten, now the story can continue.

We’ll find out in Part 10. Look forward to it.

Mighty No. 9 - Xbox 360 - Full playthrough with no death part 2 & Ray DLC stage [HD 1080p]

Full playthrough / longplay / trueplay of the Xbox 360 version of Mighty No. 9 with no deaths or energy tanks used. The game credits are included but not the backer section which takes almost an hour to role, at the end of the video we include the Raychel DLC mission where Beck has to track here down. Having spent the last month playing the game in free time and having fully master it getting all the achievements, Riven decided it was time to video himself in action. Due to the time it takes to master games like this we won't be doing most Trueplay like this, as it takes far to much practice time. Video was done on normal mode which ends up being harder than hard mode as you start with all the weapons in hard mode from the get go, so you can breeze through all the stages as a result. The Ray DLC was however done on the hard difficulty in order to capture the opening mission briefing section, which only appears once. Not a flawless run in one go as some stages where redone to remove any deaths and get better times.

Mighty No. 9 is a rather ill fated kick starter game that ended up being worse than many of the Mega Man games it tried to copy. While not terrible and fans of Mega Man will enjoy it, for new comers to these type of games you are better off buying the Mega Man games on Nintendo Virtual Console or picking up one of the many collection for the series. Keiji Inafune has shown that he was a great artist on the early Mega Man games, but not such a good producer as the end result here is a very mixed product that fails to even be as good as many of the games it cloned. The 360 port is locked at 30fps and even then often fails to keep that up at times.

The stage order for this second part of the video is as follows:
9. Radio Tower - Mighty No. 6 Aviator
10. Prison
11. Robot Factory
12. Battle Colosseum - Trinity
13. Credits
14. Vermilion Destroyer - Raychel (DLC Content)

Why You Should Play Gunvolt 2-the Kudos system

Damnit, I hurt... everywhere. This video took forever to make and I really went overboard with the bg music. Tho better that, than making a dry as hell video that puts people to sleep. Whatever, go play Gunvolt 2.

Mighty No. 9 Physical Rewards FINALLY Arrive!

Long ago during the Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter campaign one of the backer rewards was a physical NES styled box with game manual. Much time passed after the game's release and little was heard about whether or not backers would still be receiving the rewards that they were promised. With the lackluster response that Mighty No. 9 received and Inafune's disappearance many had lost hope of ever seeing their boxes, but this all suddenly changed a few weeks ago when word was received that physical box rewards may be mailed out at last. In today's video we finally put an end to the crazy Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter saga, and despite how terribly things were handled at times I'm actually happy to be able to say that I was a part of it all.

Check out this video to hear my opinions on Mighty No. 9 and why I wasn't as disappointed as some people:

Now we move on to the Mine. With what I have, I’ll manage but to be fair, you need to prep yourself well, along with the fact that you got to keep on moving. Seismic isn’t hard. Watch out for his shockwave and his drill attacks. Other than that, not much to say.

Next time in Part 6, we head for the Highway and take on Brandish.

Considering that Ekoro will be joining Gunvolt Burst, I figure why not cover it but with a twist. The twist is that I’m doing this in Hard difficulty instead of Normal. Normal would be boring and too easy.

Remember last year when I did Mighty No. 9 aka one of the most disappointing games I’ve ever played? Yeah. Well Beck then got involved in several spin-off games such as Mighty Gunvolt. This is the sequel, Mighty Gunvolt Burst. Unlike the first game, this one has a plot and depending on who you play, your job is to get out of a VR program world that had been concocted by Teseo, one of Eden’s Seven Knights. The gimmick here is the “Burst” system. If you destroy an enemy at close range, you get a Burst that increases as you defeat foes up close. The higher the chain, the more points you earn after beating a level. It’s important if you want to get a high ranking.

Rounddigger is the first boss, just like in Mighty No. 9. Since it’s in Hard difficulty, watch out cause he can kick your butt. I kid you not.

The levels in the game are based off of Mighty No. 9 or in this case, this is the game that Mighty No. 9 should have been. Way better in my opinion. Hope you enjoy cause if people like it I’ll upload more.

I should be celebrating New Years Eve, but holidays have gotten repetitive for me; so I was on that grind for the past couple of days to present you part one of my Beginner's Guide for Ray Any%. Hopefully you can mind my voice, since having Autism affects my speaking performance. Other than that, I hope you enjoyed the video and leave any thoughts and criticisms in the comments.

One more video left, then my GV2 Series will be complete.
Next series is going to be GV1, and since most of u know English more than Japanese , the version I consider will be PC Version :D

It'll take me some time to find a best way to record :
PC : English version, better quality, except audios (looking for solutions)
3DS : Japanese, normal quality, better control
(I can activate the skill by touching, but I got no more buttons for pc controller XD)

One path down, four to go. We now focus on Gunvolt’s story.

Unlike Bec who has access to different weapons, Gunvolt only has one and it’s his weapon, the Dart Leader. This allows him to fire shots to deal damage. To make up for any other disadvantages, he has access to many of his special attacks such as Astrasphere, Luxcalibur, etc. He starts off weak but in time with enough grinding, he can be powerful.

We tackle the City and everything’s the same. Don’t let it fool you. In Part 14, we’ll take the same part that Beck had taken.

Continuing on, we reach the Subspace and it’s more of that nasty Teseo’s work. A thing to note is that the gravity is a bit lighter meaning your jumps go farther up. Use it to your advantage but watch yourself. Spikes are present and they are instant death if you are careless.

The boss is a challenging one. Focus on the tentacle antenna and afterward, take down the central core. Not a hard fight.

We’ll continue on in Part 12.
